My name is Madison, but most people call me Madz. My roots are in Cary, NC where most of my childhood was spent. I completed my undergraduate studies at East Carolina University (ECU), earning B.S. degrees in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition Science plus a minor in Sport Studies. I then attended the University of Florida to earn a Master's Degree in Nutrition Science and complete a Dietetic Internship. I graduated from UF on August 5th, 2017 and officially became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) on September 16th, 2017. In regards to diet (and exercise), my primary focus is helping others build healthy habits that are sustainable for a lifetime!
As a high-energy individual, my whole life has been full of activity. Growing up I "played" jumprope, swimming, cheerleading and track (right- you don’t actually “play” any of these, but you get the idea!). Weightlifting was introduced to me as a junior in high school when I decided that Spanish III was going to be a nightmare. I dropped Spanish in exchange for a weightlifting course that forever changed my life!
My personal and professional experiences related to personal training are as follows:
ACSM Certified Personal Trainer (2013 to present)
Alter Ego Fitness (May 2016 - August 2017)
Excel Fitness and Tanning (January 2014 – May 2015)
Dryland strength and conditioning coach for youth swim team (Sept. 2014 – May 2015)
Athletic Strength & Conditioning volunteer in ECU’s Murphy Center (Sept. 2014-May 2015)
Bodybuilding Bikini Competitor (1 NPC show, 2 ANBF shows)
My mission is to educate motivated individuals on the science behind effective exercise and nourishing dietary habits, while offering wellness programs to help people develop and sustain lifelong habits for optimal health.
